Resolution to Dissolve the Healthcare Committee
Passed by membership: May 28, 2026
Whereas:
There is currently no Healthcare Committee chair, and there were no accepted nominations for the position at the last Executive Committee election.
Our Bylaws give the power to the general body to dissolve committees under Article IX - Section C if no workplan is presented:
“If the committee does not produce an acceptable plan on this timeline, the general body may dissolve the group by majority vote.”Our bylaws also state that each committee must have a chair
“Effective December 2023, each committee must have a chair who is elected to the Executive Committee by the Chapter (Article VII), with nominations open to the general membership.”
Further discussions have been held at Action Forum, on Slack to attempt to understand the desires of membership for the future of the committee.
Be it resolved:
The Healthcare Committee is dissolved.
Members with good connections to Healthcare Workers should attempt to bring that work to the Labor Committee.
Any research or content can be brought to the Communications Committee, or if more appropriate, the Political Education Committee.
Executive Committee should work with members of the Healthcare committee to
Archive any important documents, templates or records.
Guide members of the healthcare committee to other work within the chapter that they may be interested and suited to.
