LABOR

Our Labor Committee is the home of union members and allies who fight to expand worker power in Rhode Island and beyond.

Our vision is a united working class that chooses to take ownership of all the wealth it produces. We do this by organizing rank-and-file union members so that they may demand control of contract negotiations, strikes, and the political decisions made by their unions.

Organized labor is not simply one “issue,” but an encompassing struggle for power. Without a strong labor movement, it will be impossible for the DSA to achieve many of its goals. We aim to help workers discover their power to build a better society.

We hold a workers’ circle open to the public on the last Sunday of every month, starting at 2pm at Red Ink Community Library. Non-unionized workers who are interested in organizing their workplace are especially encouraged to come.
