Title: Video Editor (Volunteer)
Location: Remote / Providence, RI
Time Commitment: 2–4 hours per video (flexible; average 4–6 hours/week)
Reports To: Communications Committee Co-Chairs

About Us
The Rhode Island Democratic Socialists of America is building a powerful workers’ party to fight for a socialist future decided by the many, not the few. Our Communications Committee relies on high-impact video content to amplify our message and engage supporters online and at events.

What You’ll Do

  • Review and organize raw event footage (rallies, protests, meetings, trainings)

  • Edit short-form clips for Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook (15–60 seconds)

  • Produce longer recap videos (2–5 minutes) suitable for YouTube and our website

  • Incorporate titles, lower thirds, captions, and music consistent with our brand guidelines

  • Color-correct, mix audio, and ensure final exports meet platform specifications

  • Collaborate on video concepts, storyboards, and promotional strategies

Who You Are

  • Proficient with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent)

  • Strong sense of pacing, storytelling, and visual composition

  • Basic motion-graphics skills (After Effects or similar) a plus

  • Comfortable working to deadlines and taking creative direction

  • Passionate about social justice, labor solidarity, and community organizing
