The Rhode Island Democratic Socialists of America is building a workers’ party capable of advancing a socialist future decided by the many, not the few. Our Research team underpins every campaign and educational effort with rigorous, actionable information.
What You’ll Do
Conduct targeted research on elected officials, corporate entities, ballot measures, and policy proposals
Compile profiles on key decision-makers: voting records, affiliations, funding sources, public statements
Analyze public documents, news archives, campaign finance databases, and watchdog reports
Summarize findings in clear, concise briefs, fact sheets, and slide decks
Collaborate with organizers to translate research into strategy recommendations and educational materials
Maintain an organized library of sources and citation records
Who You Are
Skilled at online and library research, with attention to accuracy and source credibility
Familiar with political databases (e.g., OpenSecrets, state ethics portals) and basic data-analysis tools
Strong writing ability: synthesize complex information into reader-friendly summaries
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines independently
Passionate about exposing power structures and equipping our movement with knowledge
